MESCO sets new standards with the first successful implementation of the new Standard Robot Command Interface (SRCI) with PROFINET.

Our expertise: Successful SRCI implementation in robotics

MESCO Engineering is pleased to have successfully implemented the new Standard Robot Command Interface (SRCI) with PROFINET for a robotics customer.

This innovative development marks a milestone in the robotics and automation industry and offers numerous advantages for the programming and control of robots in industrial applications.

As technology continues to advance and industrial applications become more complex, the need for efficient and flexible solutions to control robots and motion sequences grows. The SRCI interface enables seamless communication between PLC and robot controller and simplifies the programming and integration of different robots into one application.

By using the Siemens TIA Portal and PROFINET, connected robot controllers can be seamlessly integrated, ensuring continuous and efficient control. The SRCI interface supports several robot functions that can be easily called up in a PLC environment.

The technical implementation is based on a proven client-server model that enables remote procedure calls. The PLC (client) sends command messages and parameters to the robot controller (server), which executes the function and sends back specific response messages.

For a first robotics customer, MESCO Engineering has now implemented the SRCI interface between PLC and robot controller using PROFINET. The SRCI implementation was tested by the SIEMENS test suite to ensure conformity and quality.
