This innovative development marks a milestone in the robotics and automation industry and offers numerous advantages for programming and controlling robots in industrial applications.
With continuous technological progress and the increasing complexity of industrial applications, the need for efficient and flexible solutions for controlling robots and motion sequences is growing. The SRCI interface enables seamless communication between PLC and robot controller and simplifies programming and the integration of different robots into one application.
By utilising the Siemens TIA Portal and PROFINET, connected robot controllers can be seamlessly integrated, ensuring continuous and efficient control. The SRCI interface supports numerous robot functions that can be easily accessed in a PLC environment.
The full integration of SRCI into Universal Robots‘ software will enhance the connectivity capabilities of Universal Robots’ cobots and ensure customers a smooth integration with Siemens PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). It was first introduced in April and is now available in a full version.
‘From the first steps to the final validation, it was a pleasure to work with MESCO on the integration of SRCI into our software. Their experience with PROFINET and embedded software development has been crucial to the success of the collaboration,’ says Kasper Døring, Technology Officer, Cobot Software at Universal Robots.
All information about the successful SRCI implementation for Universal Robots can be found in our press release.
