Interested listeners and experienced experts met in Essen to discuss the integration of the drive profile in PROFINET and PROFIsafe. Two exciting questions occupied almost all participants: “To what extent or with what scope of functions and corresponding effort can the PROFIdrive profile be integrated into devices?” and “When does it make sense to enable the end user to easily integrate the device into the PROFINET world by means of the profile and thus also to achieve a quick replacement of defective devices?”
MESCO gave a presentation on the topic of PROFIsafe and the integration of safe functions by means of Design Packages, MESCO’s own library for safe functions in accordance with EC 61800-5-2. In addition, we were happy to answer questions and provide suggestions for interested parties from the drive/encoder and sensor sectors.
Another event on these topics is planned for October at MESCO in Lörrach. This means that interested customers from the south-west of Germany and also from Switzerland will have short distances to travel.
