Functionally Secure Development – The Safety&Security Forum will be held on 5 and 6 July 2017 in Munich. MESCO Engineering will be there both as an exhibitor and with a specialist presentation.
Functional Security plays a crucial role in the industry in ruling out dangers to machine and equipment operators. For this, it is mandatory that development of security-critical systems must follow the relative standards – from the IEC 61508 as the overriding standard to the other department-specific standards.
Keyword “IIoT or also Industry 4.0”
Security is increasingly becoming the focus because, with the growing interconnectedness of machines and production facilities, there are systems with extensive measures to protect against sabotage, hackers or espionage.
The Safety & Security Forum is catering to the current needs of the industry with this topic!
The presentations provide clearly structured information. For both the developers of hard- and software components and for integrators and end users.
MESCO has already been an exhibitor here for a number of years and will also contribute a specialist presentation this year.
Our topic
Requirements of Functional Security for Product Manufacturers from the Automation Industry
The focus will be on the requirements of the electronic development. Concrete examples from the practice illustrate which significant clearances must be made with respect to functional security.
It will be demonstrated in concrete terms which measures and delivered goods must be formed in order to pass an assessment or achieve the certification. Organizational tasks for the Functional Safety Manager and practical tasks for the hard- and software developer will be described, and examples for a development process will be given.
The development documents originating as results, such as System Safety Requirements Specification, Safety Plan, Verification & Validation Plan, design documents, test specifications and test protocols, are explained and put into context with each other. Elements of design methods for safety hardware and software are highlighted in examples.
- Target groups: Project managers and developers of industrial products
- Advantages: The presentation gives a precise overview of the existing requirements and tasks. This makes the introduction of and the handling of the topics relating to functional security and IEC61508 substantially easier.
