MESCO implements generic robot interfaces

Tuesday, 15. February 2022

Modern controllers simplify the programming of robots and motion controllers with smart tooling. In order to be able to use these functions universally, i.e. across controllers and interdependently, the respective robot controller must support this generic interface.

This article describes the background and how MESCO can support robot manufacturers in the hardware and software realization of these specific, generic interfaces.

Executive Summary

The Siemens TIA Portal enables access to connected robotics controllers. This results in end-to-end integration and logical unity.

Robotics and motion control functions of the controllers simplify programming, commissioning and diagnostics of motion control functions. They can control and monitor kinematics of multiple interpolating axes. Thus, robots can be set up and operated in the controllers across manufacturers.

MESCO supports robot manufacturers in a standard-compliant way and realizes these specific robot interfaces in hardware and software from the concept to the confirmation of conformity.
