Industrial Internet of Things – implemented easily

Wednesday, 11. January 2017

Sensor data and additional information can be transmitted to the cloud with very little effort for preventative maintenance and statistical evaluations purposes.

The companies BaumerMESCO Engineering and C-Labs will present a live demonstration of how IIoT can already be implemented easily and successfully – as for example on Baumer’s stand during the recent trade-fair ‘sps ipc drives 2016’ in Nuremberg.

Eight different applications demonstrate how data from sensors and encoders is transmitted to the cloud (Axoom) via standard interfaces and corresponding gateways. The technologies used are IO Link, PROFINET and Ethernet.

With only a small extra effort made on the filed level, users can now obtain additional data, which until now has not been transmitted to the control system. This allows the data to be statistically evaluated, for example for preventive maintenance. This is an enormous advantage, which should be used!
